Orthodontics (Invisalign/Suresmile)

Orthodontics is the discipline in dentistry whereby the teeth are repositioned or “straightened” into a more harmonious, healthy and esthetically pleasing position. This may be accomplished with metal braces (brackets), ceramic (tooth-coloured) braces, Invisalign/Suresmile clear aligners and removable appliances. These treatments place pressure on the teeth over time and gently move teeth into a more desirable position.

Porcelain Veneers/Crowns

If teeth are badly discoloured, have multiple, large, stained fillings or are malpositioned, porcelain veneers or crowns can create beauty in the smile. The top front teeth, possibly the lower teeth and sometimes the posterior teeth can be crowned or veneered.

Porcelain veneers usually prepare the front surface and possibly other surfaces of the tooth and a porcelain shell is cemented to the tooth.  Since these prostheses are made in a lab, their colour and shape can be customized.

Porcelain crowns prepare more of the tooth structure.
